Building the Right Fire Station 1 for Westwood’s Future

The Town of Westwood and the Fire Station 1 Advisory and Community Engagement Committee are in the process of a new approach to replace the aging Fire Station 1, located at 637 High Street. Our goal is to provide updates and information to help keep Westwood residents informed about the project.

50% Schematic Design Plans Presented to FS1 Advisory and Community Engagement Committee

The Fire Station 1 Advisory and Community Engagement Committee (formerly the FS1 Steering Committee) got its first look at the potential floor plans for Fire Station 1 at the former Deerfield Elementary School property.

KBA presented the 50% schematic design plans during the committee’s August 24 meeting. The goal of the plans is to be able to determine the project scope and budget, and they will continue to evolve with input from the Westwood Fire Department and the larger community.

The Proposed Site

The FS1 Steering Committee has recommended the preferred location of a new FS1:
